Solar lighting for Zidlochovice

Enhancing safety and sustainability with low-power, low carbon public lighting

Zidlochovice is a town located in the South Moravian region, with a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. The town is recognised for balancing the preservation of its traditional character and historic heritage with a commitment to sustainable development.

Building on this commitment, the local authorities have increasingly opted for solar lighting solutions to power municipal infrastructure independently.

Expanding solar lighting infrastructure

At the start of 2025, a project to illuminate the local cemetery was carried out, featuring the installation of two 1-metre-high FLAMINIA solar lighting bollards with a low energy (1.5W) output. This thoughtful intervention enhanced both safety after dark and the site's dignified atmosphere.

Encouraged by the success of this initial project, the town expanded the use of solar lighting by installing PREVIA bollards along the footpath leading to the Lidl supermarket. Eight 1.2-metre-high PREVIA fixtures use the same low power output as the cemetery bollards, but stay illuminated for twice as long.

Together, these fixtures provide high-quality, even illumination for residents. Both models are finished in an elegant anthracite grey (RAL 7016), blending seamlessly into the environment.

For Zidlochovice, this partnership with Schréder marks another step forward, proving that a historic town can successfully shape its own sustainable future while staying true to its roots.
